Mission Statement­

The La Jolla Historical Society is dedicated to the discovery, collection and preservation of La Jolla's heritage.

Through our collections and programs, we carry out our mission by:

  • Discovering, recording and sharing La Jolla's history.
  • Preserving La Jolla's historical objects, sites and structures.
  • Increasing community awareness of the value of our heritage.

At the La Jolla Historical Society we take our mission seriously. We are active in La Jolla preservation efforts, keeping historic sites and structures on our 'watch list' and supporting residents who live in historic neighborhoods and homes.

Our collection of archived photographs, documents and books are available to anyone who wants to learn more about La Jolla's rich history.
