The Secret Garden Tour of La Jolla

SECRET GARDEN TOUR | May 14, 2022

Please join us for the next in-person Secret Garden Tour on May 14, 2022

For over two decades La Jolla Historical Society’s Secret Garden Tour has provided the opportunity to step into the extraordinary world of La Jolla’s private gardens. The Secret Garden Tour is much anticipated on the community’s spring calendar and leaves a legacy throughout the year with financial support for the Society’s exhibitions and educational programs. In addition to the plants and landscaping, the Tour includes opportunities to explore unique designs in the company of garden enthusiasts and friends.

While the garden locations remain a closely guarded secret until the day of the tour, there will be six spectacular La Jolla properties with beautiful views and coastal settings which make this garden tour unlike any other in San Diego. Each garden will be enhanced with live musicians, plein air artists, and dining table designs. There are two ways to experience the gardens, either Self-Guided or the popular Platinum Tour which includes an elegant brunch, docent-led shuttle service to the gardens, and an exclusive seventh garden.

The weekend event starts with a Friday Night Garden Party. This intimate gathering gives you an opportunity to mix and mingle with other garden enthusiasts while enjoying hors d'oeuvres, wine, and music. An enchanting evening garden experience prior to the Saturday tour.

Returning again is The Secret Garden Boutique at Wisteria Cottage. Open to the public throughout Tour day, visitors shop and enjoy a collection of gardening accessories, plants, and gifts available for purchase. We have selections from various vendors known for their special artistic style and craftsmanship.
