For groups seeking a deeper dive, we also offer group tours for a fee, where guests can explore exhibits with guided insights and customized topics.

School Visit Offerings

  • All school group visits to the La Jolla Historical Society include a guided tour of our historic property and current exhibition.

  • Group Size: Maximum of 45 people per group. 1 adult chaperone required per every 15 participants. LJHS reserves the right to break up or decline a tour request if the group is too large as we must consider staffing, security, and gallery size.

    Groups larger than 45 may also be asked to separate their group into smaller groups with different timeslots for their tour depending on availability.

  • Cost: Free

  • Duration: 90 minutes

  • Start Time: 10:00 AM

  • Location: 780 Prospect Street, La Jolla

  • Art-making workshops tied to the exhibition are available by request.

  • Tours are free of charge for school groups and based on availability. Inquire for pricing for adult tours.

  • Tours are limited in size for comfort and safety and can accommodate up to 25 individuals.

  • Tour attendees may choose thematic tours focused on regional history, architecture or the current exhibition, please specify.

  • We welcome groups ranging from kindergarten to college and beyond, please specify.
